This fine old timber-framed coaching inn reopened in spring 2025 after a period of closure. It's a long and fairly narrow wet pub with a single bar and a varied range of seating areas, including a beer garden. The number of hand pumps has recently been increased to expand its ale offering. Beers, hailing largely from the Salopian stable, variously include Vapour Trail, Portmanteau, Lemon Dream and SY State of Mind. Live music is a regular feature which typically alternates between rock evenings and drum & bass evenings, whilst Thursdays are open mic nights. Upstairs is a function room that also caters for darts enthusiasts and for those more interested in a game of pool, a pool table is located on the ground floor towards the back of the pub. The Spread prides itself on being a cornerstone of the community, with a warm and inviting atmosphere where friends and family can gather and relax. Its philosophy is that people should be able to go out for a drink without breaking the bank.
